The activism for immigration reform is in no mood to lose its momentum even after the clouds of Syria and budget and debt ceiling loom over the Congress. Immigration reform advocates are going to stage events on Capitol Hill and D.C. offices of Corporations that provide major amounts of money to Republicans and can swing their votes in favor of reform.

The activists are preparing to get arrested outside these offices. Oct 5th is set to be the date when activists will hold rallies across the nation.

Even though, comprehensive immigration reform was passed by the Senate early this year, the House Republicans are in no mood to vote over it. The prospects looked dim; however, after the aggressive activism, arrests, lobbying, the support of the Catholic Church, the Evangelists and several rallies later, the House republicans finally appear budging.

Republican leaders asked their members not to engage their constituents on the topic of immigration reform this summer. The problem is the House has limited time, only nine days, before the five day break beginning from 23rd September. The federal budget needs to be extended by then since the deadline expires on Sep. 30th.

Advocates say that if the Congress wants to take action, they can make the time on the calendar and act. Activists are pressing for October for the voting on immigration reform. However, there is hardly any chance that the bill will pass by the end of this year.
